* Resume and Interview Preparation

Having a marketable resume is the first step in the job search process. A resume combining both writing skills and marketing forte’ to present your unique talents to prospective employers. Learn more about how you can enhance your chances of getting the job you want by following some general principals of good resume writing.

Preparation for the interview process is also encouraged. Today’s competitive job market demands that candidates be prepared to sell themselves in the interview. Learn more about what you can do to position yourself advantageously with your competitors. 

You may use any of the following services to assist you in conducting your job search:

  1. Attend a "Resume Power! Workshop" and/or "Interview Techniques."

    Please be aware that the videos may take a moment to load and they will require "Quicktime" to play them. There is a link provided at the top of the page to download the required program. They are well worth the effort that may be involved.

  3. "Writing Your Resume" and "Successful Interviewing" handouts are available in Joyal 256. (Additional handouts are available covering others job search topics, e.g., "Job Search Letters," "How to Conduct a Job Search," etc.)

Various job search videos are on file for viewing in the Henry Madden Library. Career Services also houses self-help books on various phases of the job search and other job search publications involving networking, resume writing, interviewing, dressing for success and other information.

Each year, employers representing many career areas visit California State University, Fresno at various career day/job fairs to offer students and alumni the opportunity to explore career areas and obtain relevant up-to-date information, as well as job offers.
